Rockwall-Heath 20, Garland Lakeview 14

ROCKWALL — Quarterback Cody Court connected with Amaris Fields on a 56-yard bomb with just 24 seconds remaining as Rockwall-Heath came-from-behind to defeat Garland Lakeview-Centennial at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium.

The play was set up by another game-saving play from defensive back Mario Henderson, who had an end zone interception with 28 seconds left to preserve a victory last week over Frisco Wakeland.

On Friday, Henderson stepped in for another interception at Rockwall-Heath’s 44-yard line as Lakeview-Centennial was looking to connect on a deep post to Jarvis Baxter. Court then connected with Fields on the very next play for the game-winner.

Rockwall-Heath (3-0), No. 6 in SportsDay’s Class 4A rankings, had its third consecutive game in which it forced at least three turnovers.

Lakeview Centennial (0-2) finished with 46 yards on 26 carries.
